For Mom
If Pop was the tempest, then Mom was the calm
Always the eternal optimist, she would say “Oh Dear,” and continue on
Never having the desire to win a castle, she instead was placated with the priceless; the babies, the companionship, the experiences, the love, she was selfless
When people touched her life, they would remark, “She is nice, she is kind. She never complains, she compliments. She could be my mother. I would be fine with that”
She lived many places, and was content wherever she went. She made the best of small spaces and very few conveniences
She made many friends in faraway places. On holidays and special occasions, the cards would abound from many acquaintances
Deeply devout she attended and supported whenever possible. “I’m going to church” she would say, even when that became impossible
As her children, Mom allowed us our choices, with little criticism or strife, we were able to live our lives as we chose to devise
We her children lament her passing and we greatly regret her pain and suffering. Had it been our choice, she would not have suffered at all
We will remember her kindly and always speak of her fondly. She was a wonderful mother until the end. Rest in peace, Dear Mother, until we meet again
